Quality Engineer

Location: Bergen County, New Jersey


Our client is seeking a polished, proactive, and professional Quality Engineer to support the Manufacturing division and provide strong leadership and coordination to the factory floor. In this role, you will respond to quality issues, identify root causes, and identify continuous improvement opportunities in a firm that cultivates a close-knit and collaborative corporate culture.


  • Evaluate quality issues associated with supplier defects, production issues, and customer reported failures to determine root cause and corrective actions. The QE will work together with Process Engineering, Test Engineering, and Production to resolve issues occurring during the PCBA manufacturing process.
  • Maintain control of non-conforming material in material review board (MRB) areas and provide status reporting for items on hold. Respond to quality oriented questions for material in production and disposition material accordingly.
  • Seek continuous improvement of quality system across all areas of the plant. Document process improvements and new processes for Quality Control department in work flows and procedures.
  • Support Quality Control Inspection Team by helping to resolve technical and QC team focused issues
  • Audit to ensure compliance with company and industry standards, including but not limited to 5S, good manufacturing practice, company safety policies, standard operating procedures, and product work instructions
  • Present and discuss quality issues, corrective actions and improvement opportunities with cross functional team during quality review meetings



  • Bachelors of Science degree from an accredited institution in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Computer, Industrial or Equivalent Discipline)
  • 3+ years of experience in an Engineering role in a manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of inspection and measuring equipment
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel) software and able to learn other software as needed
  • Well organized and detail oriented with good time management skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication
  • Ability to read and understand assembly drawings, schematics, and Engineering Change Notices for the purpose of evaluation
  • Ability to work in a face-paced environment, quickly adjust to shifting priorities, but still follow through on initiated tasks and projects
  • Understanding of circuit board assembly manufacturing process, surface mount and through-hole
  • Internal auditing experience
  • Working knowledge of IPC-A-610 standard requirements
  • ASQ certification
  • Experience establishing or maintaining ISO 9001 quality system
