The Manager of Business and Financial Applications is responsible for providing leadership to the IS department and for management of it's human, material, and financial resources. Serves as a member of the Information Management Business Center Leadership Team. Plans, directs, and manages operations of a team of Information Services, programmers, and business analysts. The Manager is responsible for coordinating aspects of planning, design, development, implementation, maintenance, and evaluation of Company Information Services applications. In collaboration with other Managers, is responsible for twenty-four-hour oversight responsibility to ensure quality and cost-effective delivery of information services. Manages all aspects of financial and business system included in delivery of services.


  • Manages HRIS (Lawson S3/ INFOR GHR), material planning (Lawson) and Financial (Lawson) resources so that department goals and objectives are achieved, including department-specific and organizational dashboard measures and corporate priorities. Interacts with customers and directors to assure consistent performance and quality of work.
  • Works collaboratively within a leadership team to achieve division and organizational goals and objectives. Overseas the direction of cross departmental project teams of IT Staff, managers, project managers, directors, business staff, vendors and consultants in delivering IT Solutions and achieving strategic goals.
  • Provides leadership and direction to the Directors. Participates in strategic planning related to future directions of Information Services Aligns financial, human and material resources of the department so as to accomplish department and organization goals and objectives
  • Providing governance activities to ensure budget, timelines, features and quality are being managed appropriately
  • Ensures problems are handled in a timely manner so as to eliminate down time and maximize organizational productivity
  • Can serve as project coordinator and/or advisor for organization wide information system projects Develops systems to monitor and improve departmental performance.
  • Responsible for the leadership, development, recruitment, and mentoring of staff



  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Management, Engineering, or an analytical discipline
  • Preferred Education: Masters' Degree
  • Strong knowledge of HR, Finance, and Business application (Lawson/Peoplesoft/SAP/etc)
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to manage diverse personnel
  • Solid documentation skills, writing and reporting (project charters, technical design documentation, change management documentation etc.)
  • Results oriented and must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, organized, ability to multitask
  • Past experience in managing vendor relationships; negotiating service and pricing with hardware, software and purchased services
  • Ability to work effectively in a highly-collaborative team oriented environment
  • 5+ years leadership experience, including development, implementation, and maintenance of enterprise applications
  • 10+ years' experience in information systems
  • Ability to make sound decisions and solve complex business and technical issues
  • Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills; ability to communicate verbally and in writing with all levels of management and thrive in a cross-functional environment
  • Knowledge of financial management and budgeting
  • Lawson ERP experience, (S3/GHR/Landmark/AP/LTM)
  • Successfully developed and implemented applications in new computing architecture environments, using new and emerging technologies
  • 3+ years' experience in direct supervision of staff
