Senior Accountant for SEC, SOX

Location: San Jose, CA



SEC Responsibilities:

  • Assist the SEC Reporting Manager with SEC filings (10Ks, 10Qs, 8Ks, etc.), including document preparation, data analysis, integrity validation and filing submission readiness
  • Assist with the preparation and review the XBRL components of financial reporting
  • Assist with and/or complete ad hoc projects as requested (e.g. management reports, board presentations, benchmarking filings, research and document issues, special finance projects, etc.)


SOX Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Compliance Manager with maintaining process narratives, risk control matrixes, control testing documents, etc.
  • Schedule and conduct control walkthroughs for all key business processes
  • Perform internal control testing of entity- and process-level controls for in-scope business processes
  • Assist with SOX requests from the Company's external auditors and SOX consultants
  • Continuously work to enhance the SOX program to become more efficient and effective


General Accounting Responsibilities:

  • Perform accounting functions as assigned including, but not limited to recording, reconciling and analyzing G/L accounts and transactions
  • Maintain accuracy and integrity of vendor master file
  • Assist with annual external audit and quarterly reviews, including preparation of supporting audit schedules
  • As necessary, contribute to department and organization special projects



  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related fields
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in audit, accounting or finance, Big 4 or public company experience preferred
  • Understanding and experience working with SEC filings
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team and take on new tasks with various levels of difficulty in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong written, oral communication, analytical and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and take ownership of work product
  • Intermediate to advanced experience with MS Word and Excel capabilities
  • CPA is a plus
  • Oracle knowledge preferred
